11 Cats Remain!
March 28th, 2008 by wozogI keep getting hate emails about the “Is it ok to eat a dog or a cat” Post. Some even told me to take the post off! Wow how dare someone come to another person’s blog and tell them to take something off? This is America, freedom of speech. No matter how much I disagreed with a blogger…I would respect his or her right to express themselves. I get emails everyday from dog/cat lovers who say it is inhuman to eat dogs or cats….but they do not answer my question of the difference between eating a dog or cat to eating a cow or pig…They are both animals. People eat meat in America everyday yet when they hear people in Asia eat dogs…..THEY are the evil ones….WOW! I love animals, cats especially….but I see nothing wrong with eating them, just like I see nothing wrong with eating cows, pigs, or chickens. Cows, pigs, and chickens are treated and killed horribly in America, but I try not to think about that…that is the sad truth. I would not want to watch them get killed but I would not think twice if a juicy piece of steak came to my table. So if you disagree explain why….don’t just call me a asshole, jerk, or bisexual….why are you calling me bisexual gracex84x?

I’m sorry people are being rude and harassing you. If people disagree, they have every right to, then they should “politely” say they disagree, and then make a case for their position. That’s what debate is about. But threats are uncalled for. I’ve decided to no longer participate on that comment thread because people were unwilling to have a civil discussion on the issue. Again, I’m sorry. I thought it was an interesting and thought provoking topic worth discussing, and I was looking forward to reading some of the arguments for and against. Oh well.

I would say it is morally wrong. We have domesticated cats and dogs over the centuries. Also, we are animals too but it isn’t acceptable to eat each other! I believe their is a ‘higher’ order of animals. I’ve never heard of a cow saving lives :O)

i honestly don’t understand the big deal. i know we’ve domesticated cats and dogs. they are our friends. we buy little boots to cover their feet. we put ribbons and hair clips on their hair. we even knit them mini sweaters. but they are animals. it’s all about culture. we must understand that america is not rome. our way of thinking isn’t the best way. it’s this arrogance that makes the rest of the world hate us. how dare we judge the belief system of other cultures.
i don’t think wozog was being offensive at all. i think his post was genuine and thought provoking. it would have been great if an open dialog was started, but obvious a lot of his readers were ignorant and narrow minded. i say, f them, and continue to write what you want to write. don’t censor your blog cause a few of your readers are being bitchy.
